'Blue'tiful Quilt Pattern Sew-Along!

| Hello! Have you created a Deb Heatherly quilt? Her pattern writing is easy to follow and she is famous for her mystery quilts. Deb created the Crossroad Mystery, Sparkle Mystery, and Woven Stars Mystery quilt patterns, if you participated in those with us. Crossroads and Sparkle are now available as published patterns. Woven Stars Mystery is in progress and registration is closed. Deb's other quilt-shop-only mystery pattern Pulsar will begin in August. Besides being a seasoned pattern writer, she is also a Creative Grids Ruler designer. |

| After creating several shop-sample mystery quilts, I thought it would be fun to do a non-mystery sew-along with one of her patterns. The 'Blue'tiful Quilt caught my attention. I love the look of a variety of blocks making a quilt look complicated....but it's not! |

| The Bluetiful Quilt pattern is required to participate as no cutting/sizing information will be given in the Sew-Along. The Bluetiful Quilt pattern is one of 10 patterns in the Creatively Yours Pattern Book. (Hint, hint....the pattern book is worth the investment. I already have my eye on an additional quilt pattern from the Creatively Yours Pattern Book for another Sew-Along.) |

| Bluetiful Quilt uses just three different blocks; Cat's Cradle Block, Half Square Triangle Variation Block, and a Log Cabin Block (not shown). The Bluetiful Quilt pattern does require two Creative Grids Rulers; the Cat's Cradle XL and the 6" Log Cabin Trim Tool. Upon using these two rulers for the first time for this pattern, I am in awe of how perfect my blocks turned out. I am excited to create more quilts using these blocks. (Hint, hint: I got the 6" & 12" Creative Grids Log Cabin Trim Tool so I can create bigger blocks for an upcoming Log Cabin wedding quilt.) If you have participated in Deb's famous mystery quilts, you may already have these rulers in your sewing tool box. |

| I wanted to create the kit using similar inspired blues as the original quilt. I had ordered these beautiful Expression Batiks from Riley Blake Designs for another project that never developed. When I saw the Bluetiful Quilt, I knew they were a perfect fit! Don't worry about the Cattails Batik being directional. I let my Cattails print go every which way and it turned out great! The dragonfly batik is gorgeous. Bluetiful Quilt Kits are available but supplies are limited. Want to use your own fabrics? No problem. I understand many of you are using your stash fabrics. Or maybe you want permission to shop for some new fabrics. The Creatively Yours Pattern Book is available separately. |
| Bluetiful Quilt pattern comes in three different sizes: Runner = 17" x 44" Lap = 66" x 66" Queen = 88" x 88" Note: If you bought the Bluetiful Quilt Kit, you have enough fabric to do the Queen size quilt or you can create the Lap size and have extra fabric left over. Lap Size Fabric Requirements:
